FAQ

Entry Info

For everyone’s safety, guests are subject to bag searches and various levels of screening, subject to artist and management discretion. Some examples of items that are not allowed include: weapons, sharp or dangerous items, reusable water bottles, food, beverages, large markers, illegal drugs, wallet chains, mace, stickers, flyers or multiples of items intended for resale or distribution, cameras with detachable lenses, video/audio recorders, no cameras with flash, tripods etc. We also don’t allow drug paraphernalia, spray paint, laser pointers, vapor pens, or smokeless cigarettes. Please use good judgment. If you have specific questions, please call our box office. This list is subject to change show by show, or at the performer’s request.

Age Policy: The UC Theatre Taube Family Music Hall is an all-ages venue with the exception of babies in arms. Every person must have a ticket. Please bring ear protection for your child, as this may be required at certain shows, at our discretion. If we are presenting a children’s event, we may alter this policy. Please check the specific event for information.

Please note: the audio recording and camera policy frequently changes based on the preference of the artist(s). Many performers allow small personal pocket cameras but require a press pass for professional gear. Video is never allowed.

Alcohol: To purchase alcoholic beverages, patrons must present valid government-issued photo identification and be at least 21 years of age. (United States-issued ID card/drivers license or passport only. No exceptions.)

Re-Entry: There is no re-entry once you have been admitted into the venue, although re-entry is permitted from our designated outdoor smoking area.

I forgot to bring cash! Does The UC Theatre Taube Family Music Hall have an ATM? No we don’t, but we accept all major cards. Please note that our Coat Check is cash only.

How can I see photos and videos of past performances? Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for photos, videos, concert announcements, and more!

Can I bring in outside food or drinks? Outside food and beverages are not permitted.

Tickets

To purchase tickets online, visit our homepage. All of our shows have online ticket sales and it’s recommended to purchase in advance as shows may sell out.

Our Box Office is open on Sunday's from 10:00AM to 2:00PM excluding major holidays. On the evening of an event, the box office opens approximately one hour before doors and remains open until the headliner hits the stage.

There are no fees when you purchase tickets at our box office, however, there is a 3% credit card processing fee.

All sales are final. Refunds are only available in the event of a cancellation. In the event of a cancellation, all refunds will be given at the original point of purchase.

The UC Theatre Taube Family Music Hall is a general admission venue with limited seating. However, the venue also accommodates fully seated shows. In some instances, at the discretion of management, tables and/or chairs may be placed on the general admission floor. Access to those are first-come, first-served.

To request ADA seating, please send an email to boxoffice@theuctheatre.org with the show title and date of show in the subject line along with a brief description of your seating requirements. Any additional information will help us provide the best experience for you at our venue. Our team will then reply to your seating arrangement request as soon as we can. Please note that because of limited space, we can issue up to two ADA seating passes to the requestor and a companion. Seating for any additional guests in your party is based on availability on the night of the show.

Is the theatre available for private rentals?

Do you have a Lost & Found?
Yes. For lost and found items, please visit the box office (open one hour before the first show time of the day) or email us at merch@theuctheatre.org

Are you affiliated with UC Berkeley?
No. The UC Theatre Taube Family Music Hall never has been, nor is it currently, associated with the University of California. In 1917, when the Theatre was built, University Avenue was considered the gateway to downtown Berkeley and the entrance to the campus at the top of the street. Because of its proximity to the campus and its location on University, the Theatre was named in honor of the esteemed academic institution.

The $5.6 million project is funded through a philanthropic capital campaign and private sources.

When did the new music venue open?
The UC Theatre Taube Family Music Hall held its first live music concert on April 7, 2016 with Dark Star Orchestra.
